Algorithms, Radio, and Coding Workshop         Robert Calderbank

Workshop in honor of Prof. Robert Calderbank's 60th birthday

The Algorithms, Radio, and Coding Workshop will be held in La Jolla, CA on January 31, 2015 and February 1st, 2015. This is the weekend before the Information Theory and Applcations (ITA) workshop in La Jolla, CA. The workshop will take place in the La Jolla Room of the La Jolla Shores Hotel and the dinner will be held at the nearby Marine Room.

Robert Calderbank is widely recognized for his fundamental and diverse contributions to coding and information theory. In addition, his talent as a mentor and administrator has made a lasting impact upon an entire generation of young researchers.

Registration is now closed. Please contact the organizers for late changes.

We are also asking people (whether or not they can attend) to consider submitting quotes and/or photos to include in a slideshow. For example, “Robert, your mentorship helped me to X. Thanks for taking the time to Y.” or “I remember chatting with Robert at X. Our conversation about Y changed the way I thought about Z.” Please send these to Rebecca Willett (willett@discovery.wisc.edu) by January 30th, 2015.

Tentative Program

The program will consist of four invited sessions and two “open-mic” sessions where researchers can present their work.
